General Questions

Regular maintenance is simply more efficient and more cost-effective than waiting for things to break. In any business premises, equipment, fixtures, and fittings are used daily — things wear out, get damaged, and deteriorate over time. A monthly package means small issues get dealt with before they become expensive problems, your premises always looks professional, and you have a team that knows your building and your priorities. Because we build a regular relationship with our clients, we’re also able to offer significantly reduced rates compared to one-off call-outs.

We work with businesses across London. If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, just get in touch and we’ll confirm.

Yes. WHC Maintenance carries full public liability insurance and our team is fully DBS checked. Copies of insurance certificates are available on request.

Our monthly packages are based on an ongoing agreement with 30 days written notice to cancel. There are no long tie-in periods — we want businesses to stay with us because the service is good, not because they’re locked in.

PACKAGES & PRICING

We offer a completely free, no-obligation site visit where we come to your premises, understand how your business operates, walk through exactly what each package includes, answer all your questions, and show you examples of our work. There’s no pressure — just an honest conversation about what would work best for you. Book a free site visit and we’ll take it from there.

Your monthly package covers a wide range of general maintenance tasks — the everyday jobs that keep your business running smoothly. This includes fixing doors, locks, and handles; wall and ceiling repairs; replacing taps and sink fittings; toilet repairs; unblocking sinks; shelving installation; furniture assembly; minor carpentry; painting and decorating touch-ups; replacing light bulbs, switches, and sockets; silicone sealing; flooring repairs; and general property upkeep. In short, the full range of day-to-day maintenance tasks your premises needs — handled by one reliable team.

The main difference is the number of hours included each month — Essential (4 hours), Elite (8 hours), and Ultimate (16 hours). As the packages increase, so does the level of reporting and support. All packages include a dedicated Account Manager, maintenance tracking app, scheduled visits, and an Initial Site Assessment. Elite and above also include priority response and quarterly maintenance reports. The Ultimate package additionally includes a Proactive Maintenance Plan with a quarterly review meeting. Full details are on our Prices page.

Your Account Manager will always contact you before any additional hours are used — we will never just charge you without your approval. If extra time is needed beyond your monthly allowance, we’ll confirm the additional hours with you first. Any extra time is charged at the standard hourly rate for general maintenance. Full transparency, always.

SERVICES & SPECIALIST WORKS

Specialist works sit outside your monthly package and are handled separately. We’ll assess what’s needed, provide you with a written estimate, and only proceed once you’ve confirmed. The work is then fully managed and overseen by our team — you don’t need to find a separate contractor. It will be invoiced separately and clearly, exactly as agreed.

Not a problem at all. Just let us know what you need — whether it’s an electrical fault, a plumbing issue, a boiler service, or anything else — and we’ll provide a free estimate. Once you confirm, we’ll arrange the job and complete it to the same standard as everything else we do.

Absolutely. Whenever you need us, just call or email and we’ll arrange a visit. For urgent issues, calling is always the fastest route — we’ll send an engineer as soon as possible. Call-out works are charged at our standard hourly rate for the relevant service, with a minimum one-hour charge. Standard rates apply Monday to Friday during business hours.

Standard maintenance and repair tasks are charged by the hour. Larger or more complex jobs — specialist installations, major repairs, compliance works, or bespoke projects — are quoted on a fixed-price estimate basis. Either way, you’ll always know the cost before any work begins, and nothing will be charged without your prior confirmation.

REPORTING & COMPLIANCE

Every client who joins a monthly package receives a thorough Initial Site Assessment carried out by one of our engineers. This goes beyond a basic look around — we produce a detailed report covering all key information about your building. This includes the location of stopcocks, emergency shut-offs, and instructions on how to operate them, so this information can be passed from manager to manager without anything being lost. We also record the serial numbers, makes, and models of key equipment such as your fuse board, boiler, and other systems, and register when each is next due for inspection or certification. This report becomes the foundation of your ongoing maintenance relationship with us.

As part of your package, we track your compliance check dates and proactively notify you when something is coming up for renewal — whether that’s an electrical inspection, gas safety certificate, boiler service, or any other statutory check. Depending on your agreement with us, we can carry out the check ourselves or arrange a specialist on your behalf. If a service falls outside what we provide directly — a lift inspection, for example — we’ll arrange it for you, keeping your site compliant without any hassle on your part.

Reporting varies by package. All monthly clients have access to our maintenance tracking app, where jobs are logged, tracked, and updated in real time. Clients on the Elite package and above receive a quarterly maintenance report covering all activity, tickets raised, and works completed. Clients on the Ultimate package also receive a quarterly review meeting with their Account Manager, along with a Proactive Maintenance Plan — a forward-looking schedule of planned maintenance to help prevent issues before they arise.

The Proactive Maintenance Plan is included in the Ultimate package. Rather than simply responding to issues as they arise, we work with you to plan ahead — identifying what will need attention in the coming months and scheduling works proactively. This reduces disruption, avoids unexpected costs, and keeps your premises in consistently good condition. It’s reviewed and updated at your quarterly meeting with your Account Manager.
